Happy Easter 2011

Easter Day is the central feast in the Christian Liturgical year. For Christians, this day holds immense importance since this day commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ three days after his death.

How to determine the date for Easter:

  • Easter  Day must be on a Sunday;
  • this Sunday must follow the 14th day of the Paschal moon.

Lent, a forty-day period of fasting, abstinence and prayer is observed in the memory of Christ and it is believed, Easter marks the end of Lent. In the West, this religious day can fall on any date from March 22 to April 25th. It takes around 5.7 million years to repeat the same year-to-year sequence.

Happy Easter 2011!
