Next year with the launch of Windows 8, consumers will get the benefit of Xbox Live and Windows 8 in one package as the former (Xbox live) will be a built in feature in the latter (windows 8). In an interview with The Seattle Times, Mike Delman, VP Global Marketing Microsoft, revealed the news. Talking about their earlier efforts to combine their services, Delman told Seattle Times that windows phone has been very successful. Although it is quite unclear that how things will come out to be exactly but the news definitely has had a big impact for enthusiasts. Whether it will be a complete Xbox dashboard which will enable you to do all the stuff that you do with your Xbox or only some features will be common like chatting and checking out friends etc.

Delman in the same interview also emphasized that their main aim was to fulfill the need of those who wish to use multiple devices at a particular time in a specific ecosystem and they are committed towards this goal. Windows 8 is all set to hit the market sometime in 2012. This new version of windows will not be only for desktops and laptops but it is equally compatible for tablets. There are speculations that Microsoft will unify Xbox Live and Windows Live. This unification of brands is bound to help in improving the image of the brand.
